I recommend this for kids who are just starting to read. Fun for adults also. A game you can play with kids.

Great game
I was recommended this game by a friend and love it. I played for hours when I first received. A fast paced version of scrabble, for the quick thinking game type. The packaging is cute and could be a great gift for anyone who likes word/board games.

Great Word Game
On a recent vacation with some friends at a cabin we had a couple game nights and one of my friends brought along Bananagrams. The name, the packaging, and some of the playing terms used seemed rather silly so I didn't think I was going to be impressed. But we all really ended up enjoying it.

We'd played Scrabble the night before and I think we all actually enjoyed Bananagrams more because of what another reviewer mentioned, you don't have to sit there waiting forever while another person muddles through their turn. All being able to play at the same time makes for a fun change and also makes it a relatively quick game if you aren't in the mood to play something long and drawn out. We played fairly sedately paced games since we were all new at it, but I can see how if you were to play with a highly competitive bunch it could get rather cutthroat and fast-paced. Another really nice advantage is that it doesn't take up much space so is a perfect game to take along while traveling.

I'm here reviewing the game because I'm ordering some sets for family members as Christmas gifts.

Fun, fun, fun!
Santa brought this for my 11 and 9 year-olds this year, and while they love it, so do the grown-ups! We are all huge Scrabble fans, but Bananagrams appeals (pun intended!) to us for several reasons: it is faster than Scrabble--you can play a round in about 5 minutes, no one can steal your spot, you are not constrained by only 7 letters, you don't lose a turn for returning a tough letter--though you do have to take 3 more, and you can mess with your opponents by using all your letters and making them draw more when they're not ready. Super, super fun, reasonably priced, highly portable. We love it!

Bananagrams is the best
This is an excellent game for a wide range of ages. It becomes very addicting if one is not careful. The game is an excellent way to make use of your vocabulary and to build on your vocabulary after one sees the words that other players use. What is nice is that the game is very portable and fast paced making it very useful during short durations of time between activities. I used the game during a theater production when I needed to entertain 14 children during their down time off of the stage. Fun was had by all.

Missing pieces
I purchased this from Amazon for a gift. When open & using we discovered it had missing pieces. Called Amazon they no longer sell The Settlers of Catan 5-6 player Extension. I need to return it & they will refund my money. Not able to purchase it from them again. Very disappointed in Amazon.

Essential for Real Catan Players
My husband and I love playing Catan and now we've gotten many of our friends hooked on it as well. As such, the extension pack is crucial, since we often invite 3 or 4 additional people to play with us.

A must have for any Catan player
Catan is one of the best board games ever made, and probably my favorite game of all time. It simply beats out all others on replay value, fun, strategy, and game length. If you're looking at this item, I don't need to tell you how fun the game is; you already know!

If you're ready to give your four person game a kick in the pants, this is a must buy. It will allow you to play with 5 or 6 players, as well as allowing you to make the larger maps in seafarers (if you own that expansion also). The game play doesn't change much from the 3-4 player to the 5-6 player. The only real difference is a special building faze that takes place once any player has 5 points on the board. This prevent massive card loss later in the game on any 7 roll, which can become a real problem with more players. My family's solution is not to have a special building phase, but to change the maximum number of cards in your hand when a 7 is rolled from 7 to 9. This works a bit better, and maintains more of the feel of the 4 person game.

Another piece of advice: make sure you are buying the same edition as what you currently have! If you try to combine this set with a 3rd generation set, the results are disastrous as the graphics have been changed on both the game board and the cards.

If you enjoy Catan and have the 4th generation 4 player 'starter' set, this is a MUST BUY.

Great family game!
We received this as a gift from the same family that gave us Ticket to Ride which we love. This game is even better for the ability to provide strategic thinking opportunities mixed with good old fashioned randomness. My youngest started playing at 9 years old and has actually won the game against adult strategists. The game plays differently with 5 or 6 players than 4 - not sure which I like better. But, both are fun, fascinating entertainment. We used to play cards - hearts, spades, pinochle but since these games came along as gifts the cards haven't been used much. We play this game at our lake house - which has no TV or computer, but I'm now purchasing one for the main house as we can't get enough of this game with just our time at the lake!

Good fun for (almost) all ages!
My four boys ages 6-9 love playing. It wasn't too difficult to figure out and I love watching their little minds turn as they develop their different strategies. Great fun for an adult crowd as well. A winner all around.

The only negative would be the border of game board. It takes a group to get it set up. Once it's all together though, it stays in place well. For what we paid for it, I would have expected something just a bit better. Overall, we give the game 5 stars and look forward to getting the expansion packs!

So much fun for our family!!!
My son got this for Christmas and we just finished playing our first game. We absolutely LOVED it, but I'll say that the learning curve is pretty steep. The directions were vague in certain areas, so we muddled through it for awhile trying to figure everything out. As a result, our first game took about 3 hours to play! But it was a blast and we plan on playing it again tomorrow. Our only complaint is that the directions could have been better written. I did notice (towards the end) that you can go online and read addt'l rules and also play a tutorial if you want.

Outstanding improvement over the original Eyeclops!
I bought the original Eyeclops last year and bought this one mostly because of the discounted price and extra features. This is an amazingly good improvement from the first version. I especially like that you can switch between magnifications of 100x, 200x, and 400x. The original only had a 200x power. Honestly the 100x is the best and the easiest to get a good focused photo on. You have to have quite a steady hand and moderate patience to get a clear photo on the stronger magnifications. I love the portability of this model, the USB hook up option, and features (has modes for; video camera, pictures, slideshow, and galleries for photos and videos). It has a 2 1/4 inch diagonal full color viewing screen that rivals any current digital camera. The screen/buttons are very intuitive. My 9 yr old didn't even look at the manual and had no problem figuring out all the function options, including uploading the photos on the computer. You can see any shots/video you've made on the built in screen, or on your TV or computer through very easy hook-ups. Saving or deleting can be done on the BioniCam. I highly recommend this very cool and educational toy!

have a feeling it will end up at the bottom of toy chest
My kids 8 & 10 played with this for about 1 hour. They got bored. That is not the toys fault. It does work and it is cordless. The focusing does take a bit of practice to get the hang of it. I had trouble with it until my husband showed me how to do it. They might have a better time with it in the summer when they are outside more, not sure. Glad I didn't pay more than 20.00 for it.

I wish I had this when I was a kid!
This is totally awesome! A must have gift for any child interested in the sciences, and a gift that can spark an interest in science!

The hand held microscope works very well, gave it as a Christmas present, and we tested it right away. You have to put the unit right against what you are trying to view. Subjects are lit up by white leds (more could be better) and displayed at decent resolution on the lcd screen.

Saving photos are easy and they reside on the usb stick which is included. The unit is lightweight and easy to carry around.

This is an amazing toy that really gets kids exploring and learning about the natural world all around them!

The only cons I thought It had was that its in a weird shape of a gross eye (less appealing to girls?) and the focusing ring (the white part) should have been independent as when turning it at high magnifications can cause you to lose the subject as it has to be right up against the material.

Wonderful and Durable Easel for Little Artists
Setting up the easel is very easy despite that the instructions and pieces are not all labeled. The things that are not labeled you can easily figure out where they go.

Be forewarned you CANNOT fold the easel to lay it flat without actually dismantling the easel. This is good because it means the easel is very sturdy and doesn't easily collapse but it's bad if you intend to fold it up after every use and store it away somewhere. The product comes with its own alan wrench which is nice, but not really necessary as it's pretty easy to screw the pieces tightly even without the alan wrench. You will however need it to unscrew the pieces.

I love that you can set the easel to 3 different heights. The lowest setting is intended for 3-4 year olds, the middle setting for 5-6 year olds and the highest setting for 7-8 year olds. I have a 2 and 5 year old so we opted for the lowest setting and it works out perfectly at that height. (To adjust the height in the future we will have to actually unscrew/reassemble some of the pieces...it's not something where you can just unclick and raise, which you might initially think...much like the "fold up flat" feature of having to disassemble instead of just unhooking a latch or something.)

Once the easel is entirely set up it takes up surprisingly a lot of space...allow a good 4'x4' space.

The girls love this easel and play with it daily. If you purchase the separate paint set, be sure to put a rug or something underneath the easel to catch spills!
